Burnside, November 1. Fat Cattle. —There were 226 yarded, compared with 230 last week. There were a few outstanding heavy cattle, but the bulk were medium weights, while the proportion of cows and heifers was small. The market opened quietly, with values easier by 10s per head, on last week's rates, but as the sale progressed the market firmed to last week’s rates. Values were:—Extra prime heavy bullocks, to £l3 7s Gd; prime heavy, £lO 10s to £ll 15s; prime medium, £8 10s to £-10 6s; light, £6 to £8 ss; prime cows and heifers, £6 to £7 12s 6d; medium cows and heifers, £4 to £5 15s.
