Hughes, the captain of the British lawn tennis -team, was a passenger by the Orford, which arrived from London to-day. Interviewed, he said in regard to Crawford that he is the finest Singles player in the world and has no weakness, but has more than a share of bad days. He thinks Quist and Turnbull, with a little more experience, will be a really tough proposition for any pair in the world. Hughes condemns shorts for tennis and considers them inelegant.
