OUTLOOK FOR WOOL

MR DEVEREUX’S REPORT SOUND TONE AT BRADFORD (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, October 29. The Australian woolgrowers’ representative (Mr W. P. Devereux), reports: “ In sympathy with the firmer tendency overseas, the markets for line wools rather appreciated in price, but the low quotations from South America for coarse crossbreds have been a somewhat disturbing influence on these descriptions. There is a sound tone at Bradford. Merino topmakers again advanced prices. Spinners are reluctant to follow, but a satisfactory amount of new business is being transacted. Fine crossbred tops advanced, and business was transacted at a higher level. Medium and low crossbred tops have improved, but there is not much new business. There is increased activity in the German markets, and the sales of tops have substantially increased in volume. The Continental futures markets are fairly active.”
