IN WINTER'S GRIP
SNOW IN BRITAIN ROAD TRAFFIC IMPEDED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 29. (Received Oct. 30, at 5.5 p.m.) Wintry conditions set in over the whole of Great Britain yesterday with the renewal of the gale on the east coast and showers »of sleet, hail, or snow in most parts of the country. Snow in certain parts of northern England and Scotland impeded road traffic, and during heavy weather in the North Sea several steamers sought shelter in Bridlington Bay, including the Dutch motor ship Europa, of Groningen, whose compass, wheel house, and fo’castle were washed away. Several trawlers were in difficulties.
