ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 28. At Ellerslie there were excellent conditions this morning. Training was on the course proper, with poles 40ft out. Red Sun and. Carfex ran 10 furlongs irt 2rain 17 2-ssec, the last six iu Imm 23 l-ssec. Red Sun was the more impressive. My Money beat Appellant over half a mile iu 52 2-ssec—a smart effort. Lord Val worked a mile in Irain 48 4-ssec, the half in 54sec. Psychologist jumped away from the five-furlong post. He ran the first two furlongs in 25sec, and completed in Imin 4 2-ssee — the best of the moning gallops over this distance. Whenuakura did the first two furlongs in 25sec, easing up at the finish of five furlongs in Imin 7 2-seec. Supreme Ruler ran four furlongs in 52” 3-ssec, and the mile in' Imm 46 4-ssec. Chief Emerald assisted him over the last half in 52 4-ssec. Kiltowyn took 25 l-ssec for two furlongs, and finished five in Imin 5 2-ssec. He could have improved on this. King Musk, carrying a good weight, ran three furlongs in 38 4-ssec, and finished six in Imin 20 4-5 sec. Morehu did the same in Imin 21 2-ssec. Red Flame and Seven Seas ran three furlongs, the former taking 37 4-ssec and Seven Seas 38 2-ssec. United was a shade better than Echo Song over five furlongs in Imin 5 2-ssec. Zane Grey, with a light-weight up, beat Courthaven and Glenromney over six furlongs on the grass in Imin 19 2-ssec. Chief Cook did strong work in the last three furlongs in 40sec. At Takanini, with the poles 20ft out. Holly Lu and Gold Pocket ran six furlongs in Imin 16 4-ssec, the former a length in front. Arch Ruler beat Thespis over five furlongs in Imin 5 3-ssec. Speedinint beat King March by half a length in a mile in Imin 46sec, the first four furlongs in 52sec. Alignment ran seven furlongs in Imin 31seo. Gay Shield and Gay Marigold were on terms throughout a half-mile run iu 50 2-ssec.
