The death of a nine-months-old child from injuries caused by a piece of eggehell which lodged in the larynx was inquired into in Liverpool recently. mother said the child died in hospital after an operation. _ She had sometimes fed the child with pieces of bread dipped in egg. A pathologist said that an X-ray examination revealed a flake-like foreign body in the larynx. The coroner returned'a verdict that death was due to asphyxia, caused by a piece of eggshell.
