THE MENACE OF JAPAN

WAR SOONER THAN EXPECTED A PROFESSOR’S DECLARATION (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON. October 12. (Received Oct. 13, at 8 p.m.) “Japan wants war and she covets Australia. Her idea is first Manchukuo, next China, India, Australia, and New Zealand, and then Russia. It will come sooner than expected,” says Professor Taid O’Conory, formerly of Keio University, in a book, “ Menace of Japan.” Professor O’Conory, who served in the British Army, spent many years in Japan and married into an aristocratic Japanese family. He described Japanese men as ruthless, lustful, and treacherous, and adds: “ They slowly carry on their plans, first to subjugate the East, and unless the Powers step in, Japan, who is working at top speed towards war, will soon march on China.”
