At the World’s Grain Exhibition and Conference, held at Regina recently under the auspices of the Canadian Government, Mr Freland Wilford, a grower of Alberta, won the high-sounding title of “World Wheat King” with his exhibit of hard red spring wheat. Of the 50 awards in that class all went to Canadian growers, but in the white spring wheat classes, 27 of the 28 awards were won by entries from Australia, the first place and a prize of approximately £4OO being taken by Mr J. W. Eade, of New' South Wales. In all classes, prize money to a total of about £20,000 was awarded, of which £13,000 went to Canadian exhibitors, and £SOOO to those in the United States. The amount* gained by other exhibiting countries were Australia £I3OO, New Zealand £3O, England £lB, Scotland £l6, Ireland £3O, British Guinea £4O, Southern Rhodeaic £B, and India £7.
