NEXT BAND CONTEST
PALMERSTON NORTH EXECUTIVE TERMS NOT ACCEPTED (Pek Un-ted Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., September 25. Advice has been received by the Palmerston North Committee that was arranging the holding of the Dominion bands' contest there in February, that the New Zealand Brass Bands' Association has accepted its ultimatum on the matter of profit-sharing. This means that nq contest will be held at Palmerston North. The local committee states that the original conditions were that the association was to receive 10 per cent, of the profits up to £SO. Later the association sought £SO plus 10 per cent, of the profits, but the committee flatly refused to conduct the contest unless the original terms were adhered to. The association met at Wellington on Saturday, when the above decision was reached.
By " accepted its ultimatum,'' the messagj apparently means accepted the challenge and rejected the terms of the ultimatum.
