TROTTING

By Sentinel.

Slow-class races does not necessarily mean that they are contested by slow-class horses.

There was money for Argotis at Geraldine, but he has bad manners at the start of a race.

As a means of identification, the number cloths in use at Geraldine.were practically valueless in the trotting events. Real Burton showed some promise when racing at Geraldine, and was with the leaders when near the home turn in one race, but a break settled her chances. Ivan de Oro, who went a good race on the second day at Geraldine, is amongst the acceptors for the Kurow meeting. . Some good dividends were paid in the trotting events at Geraldine both for a win and a place. One winner paid over £3O arid a placed horse returned close on the same price. Wise Guy, who won at Geraldine, had only one start as a three-year-old when racing last season. He went 3.53 from a 3.7 handicap, and returned his few supporters a very nice dividend. Sir Gowan, who won at Geraldine, is a well-bred sort, got by Rey de Oro from Dayspring, by California from Daybreak, by Vancleve from Moonbeam, by Childe Harold.
