INTER-ISLAND RUGBY

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Now that the North Island and South Island match has been played and won through no fault of the South Island forwards, perhaps those critics who so unjustly and ungenerously took exception to J. Granger's inclusion as full-back for the South Island will now be manly enough to admit they were wrong. Wrong they certainly were, as the description of the game illustrates, and unjust because some of the correspondents had never seen this player in action. According to the broadcast description of the play it is indeed fortunate that more of the Otago backs were not included in the South Island team. Apparently nobnd thought it possible that a player worthy of selection for the South Island could be found in Oamaru. It must be very gratifying to Messrs A. Adams and P. Harvey that their opinion has been vindicated in a uo uncertain manner. We Rugby enthusiasts in Oamaru knew Granger would " deliver the goods."—l am, etc., Fair Plat. Oamaru, September 25.
