DEFENCE OF AUSTRALIA

IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS A REORGANISATION SCHEME. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 23. Among the passengers by the Monterey, which arrived from Sydney to-day, was Major M. C. Langslow, of the Australian Air Service Department, who is on a holiday visit to the Dominion. He said that extensive developments in defence activities were pending. The Imperial Navy was sending out new vessels and it was intended to re-equip the Air Force with the latest high-powered machines. The reorganisation of the Munitions Department was also to be undertaken. The programme'was not by any means settled, but big changes were contemplated.
