PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL SERVICE
MONTHLY MEETING OF.ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the Presbyterian Social Service Association was held on Wednesday last. In the absence of the. general convener, the Rev. W- Saunders was voted,to the chair. There were also present—Messrs J. A. Wilkinson,'P. S. Bett, Ewen Cameron, P. W. Curtis, p. Russell' Smith, R. L. Fair maid, and W. M'Hutcheson. Mr.Fairmaid reported on behalf of the Children's Committee, and stated that there were 56 children under the association's care, and all were doing well. Two children were admitted to Somerville Cottage, and' three 'boys who had reached the age of 10 were transferred from the cottages to the Glen.dining House. Accounts amounting to £lO7 2s 2d were confirmed and passed for payment. Mr C. Russell Smith-lubmitted the Finance Committee's report. ;; The Works Committee's report was submitted by Mr J. A. Wilkinson. Various repairs to be : done at Glendining Home were confirmed, and referred back to the Works and Children's Committees with power to act. Mr Saunders presented the Ross Home Committee's report and stated that there were 53 old people in the home, .including six women and three men hi the sick wards. Two admissions to the women's wing were confirmed, and accounts,for, August, amounting to £ll3 2s 9d, were confirmed and passed for payment., The secretary reported that the Seacliff chaplain (Mr. James Gemmell) had met with an accident and will be unfit forhis duties for several weeks. '
