VINCENT HOSPITAL BOARD

A meeting of the Vincent Hospital Board was held on Wednesday last, there being present Messrs J- Ritchie (chairman). D. S. Middleton, S. A. Stevens, C. Weaver, W. Bringans, J. M'Knight, and G. T. Alexander. Dr Austin also attended. - , : The Otago Hospital Board forwarded accounts totalling £56 5s for maintenance,, etc., of. five Vincent district patients in the Dunedin Hospital, and also advised the admission of two Vincent patients to the Dunedin Hospital. : The Southland Hospital Board advised that a Vincent resident had been admitted to the Southland Hospital, and also asked if the board would admit to its shelters at the Dunstan Hospital some of the Southland patients on the waiting list for Waipiata Sanatorium. —It was decided that the chairman's action in arranging for the admission of these cases to the shelters be approved. The Waipiata Sanatorium Committee forwarded notification of discharge of a Vincent patient from the sanatorium. It was decided to grant Dr K. R. Brokensire's application for three months leave from October 1, and the filling of the position was left in the hands of Dr Austin. The treasurer's report showed a debit balance at date of £258.16s 3d, an amount of; £9OB 7s for subsidy on local authorities leavies being due. ■■•'-, The statistical returns of the boards institutions showed that during August 31 and 29 patients were under treatment at the Dunstan and Cromwell.
