LOW PRESSURE TYRES

NON-SKID DEMONSTRATIONS. The demonstrations of the non-skid quality of the new Michelin low pressure tyre, which have been conducted on Anzac avenue daily for the past week, have been attracting progressively large galleries of spectators, and they will be continued next week until September 28. The demonstrators seek to show that with the new tyre it is impossible to capsize a car as a result of skidding. A car shod with low pressure tyres can be turned at the sharpest angle at the most astonishing speed without any danger, the whole of the strain being taken and held by the tyres. It is also possible to bring a car to a stop in a yard if the necessity should arise when travelling at high speed. The low pressure tyres can be fitted'to any standard wheel or rim, and definitely do not cause any decrease in the per gallon mileage. The roughest of roads can be driven over in safety and comfort with the tyres taking all th*e strain, a fact that is strikingly demonstrated each day.
