THE PICK OF PICKED MEN. When ordering supplies for Commander Byrd’s last adventurous expedition to the Antarctic, the majority of the men voted for Chesterfield Cigarettes. 780,000 Chesterfields went with the expedition. Change to Chesterfields for a real smoke. If you prefer a pipe you need “Granger,” the smooth, mellow, “ no-bite ” tobacco.— Advt. For the use of American business men a new aid to business efficiency has been produced. It is a chart which claims to reveal the perils of indiscriminate pricecutting by showing what must be charged for goods in order to make a profit. The chart consists of a circular disc revolving on a piece of cardboard, both cardboard and disc containing printed figures. The cardboard piece has two windows through which the figures on the disc show as it #is revolved. If a price cut of 10 per cent, on an article is contemplated, for instance, a turn of the disc show's the user that if the normal profit is 30 per cent, he must sell twice the number at the reduced price in order to offset the reduced income.
