SPRING MEETING OPENED SPEEDMINT PRINCIPAL WINNER. (Peb United Press Association.) WANGANUI, September 22. The Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting was commenced to-day after being postponed from yesterday owing to heavy rain. The weather turned out fine, with bright sunshine. The course was in good order, and the attendance was fair. The totalisator handled £6253 10s, compared with £6846 10s for the first day last year.
