NEW ZEALAND LEGION

MEETING AT OUTRAM Over 30 people attended a meeting of the New Zealand Legion at Outran! last night. Dr Wylie, chairman of the local committee, introduced the speaker from Dunedin. Mr W. S. Gilkison, divisional secretary, outlined the work of the organisation in Otago and New Zealand, and Mr H. L. Paterson, the divisional chairman, addressed the meeting on the aims and principles of the legion, stressing particularly the urgent need for reform of local body government. After an interesting discussion, in which several of those present expressed their sympathy with the legions ideals, the meeting closed with a vote ot thanks to the visiting speakers.
