TRANSPORT THROUGH CANADA

The Tariff Board has ruled that Irish linens transported to China for semiprocessing cannot enter Canada free under the British preferential rates. Under this ruling, which becomes effective in two months, handkerchiefs and tablecloths will be assessed at 35 per cent. duty.
