FIRE CONSPIRACY
HARRIS TO GIVE EVIDENCE
IF SENTENCE IS REDUCED.
LONDON, September 21.
The Daily Herald says that Harris has agreed to give evidence against numerous police officers, assessors, business men, and others connected with fire raising if his sentence is reduced by five years. The Home Office hesitates to enter into a definite bargain.
At the fire conspiracy trial Harris, who pleaded guilty, was ' sentenced to 14 years’ penal servitude. Harris, an assessor, was alleged to have headed the conspiracy.
