TO THE EDITOR. Sib Scarcely a letter appears in the newspapers from a Douglas Credit advocate on the subject of banking without it being asserted that banks do not lend deposits. There the matter ends. __ Iso further enlightenment is offered. Would some Dougins Credit advocate carry the matter a little farther and explain why in that case banks take deposits at all and pay interest on them? —I am, etc., Without Prejudice. September’ 21.
