THE TOWN CLERK

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — I was very pleased indeed to read the speech of our worthy Mayor, the Eev. E. T, Cos, at the presentation to our able and excellent town clerk, Mr George Lewin. It was in very happy contrast to the Mayor’s remarks in the Bijou Hall and at Caversham some months ago. I am pleased that since his Worship has become intimately associated with the town clerk, he has learned to realise that in Mr Lewin we have a town clerk equal to the best in New Zealand. —I am, etc., Sincebetx. Mornington, September 20.
