RADIO BROADCASTING

NEW CHRISTCHURCH STATION. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 19. The first tower, 300 feet high, for th« new 3YA radio station at Gebbie’s Pass is now completed. It has taken seven weeks for three men to build it,- Work had to be suspended for Several days owing to the exceptionally strong winds, reaching at one time a speed of 100 miles per hour. The first tower stands on an eminence 50 feet above the site of the second one, on which work will start to-day. The second tower will also be 300 feet high. Work on the power station buildings is now well advanced.
