MINIATURE RIFLE NOTES

A very interesting and enjoyable evening was spent on the rifle range at the Drill Hall on Friday evening, when the Returned Soldiers’ Miniature Rifle Club entertained a naval party from H.MA.S. Australia. A 10-shot application match was fired between teams of 12 men (five shots .303 Morns Tube, open sights, and five shots .22 B.S.A. peep sights). Considering the lack of opportunity for practice with the small arms from which all naval men suffer, the visitors put up some really good shoots with \ both the .303 and .22, and in the five-shot match, with the former arm, led the local men by 22 points. In _the .22 shoot, however, the positions were reversed, club members proving themselves more efficient, with a lead of 38 points. The results were as follows: — RETURNED SOLDIERS’ MINIATURE
