The Men’s Junior, Championship was won by T, Anderson, jun., who defeated bis father over S 6 holes by 2 up and I to play. HOLE IN ONE. Mrs Mann, of the Wanaka Club.* when playing a round with a clubmate on Monday last, holed out her tee shot at the short fifth (118 yards). This is the third time Mrs Mann has holed out in 1, once on the Queenstown links and twice at Wanaka, a distinction probably unique in ladies’ golf in New Zealand. CLAY BIRD SHOOTING. A team from Wanaka, comprising Messrs Mann, Capel, Ballantyne, Jpickie, and Gillespie, representing the Wanaka Gun Club, was successful in the first challenge match for the Dewar Cup at Queenatown on Saturday. FOOTBALL SMOKE SOCIAL, The Wanaka Football Club held a smoke social in the Pembroke Hall on Saturday evening to mark the wind up of_the season, The president of the club, - Mr J. Mac Kay, was chairman. A varied ’ toast list was honoured.' The principal toast of the evening, that of “ The A and B Teams, was proposed by Mr F.;Colhng s and responded to by the captains. Messrs Kilby and Collingwood. Musical Rem 3 w given by Messrs Hogan, Groves, Steel, and Morris. Mr F, Thomson was accompanist.
