THE QUEEN CARNIVAL
TO THE EDITOR. Sir—l think the B radio stations, did good service during the Queen Carnival, but I most emphatically consider that the least that 4YA could have done was to give at least a few minutes for final announcements last Saturday ev ’ em .. g stead of the brief announcement it am make in a voice which many of us dishke 4YA is paid for service such as liiS: onJ BOt merely to remind teton«« that nominations close for, etc. Its pres belimd 4 Disgruntled. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir —Your correspondent “Invalid” is certainly right in his estimation of the Carnival Committee s action regarding broadcasting the final results. It does look as though, after collecting all the money it could, the poor public was no longer worthy of any consideration. May one inquire from the committee their reason for refusing the broadcast, especially as 4ZL had offered to do it free of charge? One will always find that our B stations are willing to try to please the public (although they get little encouragement sometimes). Why should not other bodies try to follow their example?—l am, etc., Consideration.
