ESCAPED PRISONERS

MEN STILL AT LARGE CHANGE OF CLOTHING EFFECTED (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 13. The two prisoners who escaped from the bakehouse at the Mount Eden prison on Monday, Harris O’Neill and George Eden Charles Hayward, are still at large. It is considered likely, however, that the fugitives will be recaptured before long, as they have been definitely traced to the Parnell district, where their prison clothing, worn at the time of their escape, was found discarded j this morning. The clothing was found secreted among some scrub on a vacant section by a woman residing in the locality. She immediately reported her discovery to the police. That the men were still in the district this afternoon was indicated by the fact that three yachts berthed at Judge’s Bay were found to have been ransacked, and clothing belonging to the yachtsmen is missing from the boats.
