BED OF THE THAMES
SCHEME FOR STRAIGHTENING PROPOUNDED BY PROFESSOR. LONDON, September 13. (Received Sept. 13, at 8 p.m.) Dr Miles Walker, professor of electrical at Manchester University, propounded a scheme to the British Association for straightening the bed of the Thames. The enhancement of site values •would pay the cost of the .constructional work and spaces above the railways *ught to be used for arterial roads.
