WALKER DEFEATS PATTERSON. (Per United Press Association.; HASTINGS, September 12. In the most colourful bout-of the season here George Walker defeated Jack Patterson by two falls to one before a record attendance. Patterson substituted for Pereira at the last minute and gave the crowd plenty of excitement. The first fall went to Patterson in the third round with a variation of the cradle hold. The American bustled the champion till near the end of the sixth round, when Walker evened up with a barred too hold. "Within half a minute of the resumption Walker secured the winning fall, Patterson submitting to a double-barred toe hold.
