HIBERNIAN CLUB

The members of the Hibernian Social and Debating Club were entertained by the St. Patrick’s Social Club, South Dunedin, on Thursday. A billiards and snooker tournament occupied most of the evening and resulted in a comfortable win for St. Patrick’s Club. The . detailed results are as follows (Hibernian Club names first) :~ Snooker. —J. J. Lauren and A. Gilbert 37, R. Carvalho and H. Malthas 57; J. Quinn and H. Dolan 34, C. Collette and J. Kerr 24. Totals—Hibernian Club 71, St. Patrick’s Club 81. Billiards. —N. Walsh 100, L. Marlow 74; G. Gibb 28, J. White 100; P. M'Alcvey 95, R. Phelan 100. Totals — Hibernian Club 223, St. Patrick’s Club 281. At the conclusion of the tournament supper was served, during which Mr J. Kerr, president of the St. Patrick’s Club, extended a welcome to the visitors. Mr A Gillick responded on behalf of the Hibernian Club.
