THE WEATHER
The weather was fine but cloudy m Dunedin yesterday, with a light southwest breeze. The barometer fell several pointe, and registered 29.75 last evening. REPORTS FROM NORTHERN CENTRES. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, August 24. . Heavy rain in the morning gave place to scattered showers about noon ahd fine weather in the afternoon. There was a moderate breeze from the, north-north-east. The barometer, which fell abruptly to 29.80 in about noon, had risen to 29.95 in by the evening. WELLINGTON, August 24. After a mild day, with considerable sunshine, rain began to fall this evening. A light northerly wind! is blowing. CHRISTCHURCH, August 24. The weather to-day was dull, with a light shower late in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 53.4. , The barometer fell from 29.73 in to 29.62 in.
