A PARIS MYSTERY

DEATH OF PRETTY GIRL FOUND WOUNDED IN A BATH (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) PARIS, August 3. Mystery surrounds the death of Dorothy Wright, a pretty girl of 24. She was found dying of gunshot wounds in a bath in a fashionable Champs Elysees hotel. The police, fearing a scandal in society and political circles, endeavoured to suppress the tragedy, in which a wealthy married French politician is allegedly involved. He states that the girl shot herself before he could intervene. The victim was born in Ceylon, and spent her childhood in India and Australia. A VERDICT OP SUICIDE. POLICE MAINTAIN SECRECY. PARIS, August 3. The Public Prosecutor decided . that Miss Wright committed suicide and that an inciuest was unnecessary. The police maintained the closest secrecy, even warning journalists to discontinue their investigations, IDENTITY OF MAN DISCLOSED. LONDON, August 4. (Received August 4, at 10 p.m.) In connection with Miss Wright’s death it is disclosed that tho man referred to is Roland Coty, son of the millionaire, M. Francois Coty, perfume manufacturer and newspaper proprietor. Roland states that he found Miss Wright in a room adjoining his bedroom. She held a revolver and he seized her wrist, but she fired at her head.
