The annual Rugby match between the Dunedin Hibernian Social and Debating Club and the South Dunedin Club took place at Hancock Park. From a lineout Montague forced his way over to secure a good try. The kick failed. Carroll and Lauren took the ball to the twenty-five, where Gillick picked up and went over at the corner. Quinn kicked a difficult goal. Later, Cole kicked a good goal. The final try was scored by Cahill, and the game ended with the scores:—Town 8, South 6, The game was controlled by Mr J. P. Dolan.
