A young competitor who gained third place in his class at the Musical Festival, Barnsley, England, appeared on the platform to play the pianoforte test piece without his coat. The Judge, Dr A. C. Tysoe, remarked that it was good to see a player get on with his job. The time would come, however, when the young competitor would appear on the concert platform, and he would then have io regard the conventions.
