MEETING OF MANAGEMENT '!... " : ■ COMMITTEE The weekly meeting of the Management Committee-of the Otago Football Association #as held last night. The chairman (Mr J. Simpson) presided. CHATHAM CUP. The New Zealand Council advised that it had no objection to the venue of the final of the South Island competition for the Chatham Gup being changed to Dunedin provided that the Millerton team was, agreeable. The secretary (Mr A. Sinclair) said that the Maori Hill Club had asked the Millerton team to come to Dunedin, but. the reply had been unfavourable. The club, however, would again endeavour to persuade the West Coast team to travel. The chairman expressed the opinion that it was very unlikely that the Millerton team would be able to travel. The New Zealand Association had provided financial assistance last year, but it probably would not be able to do so agaiu.DATE OF AUCKLAND MATCH. The Auckland Association advised that August 26 would not be a suitable date for the English Trophy match against Otago at Dunedin. Members suggested that this would be due to the possibility of an Auckland team being engaged in a Chatham Cup match. Mr A. Sharp said that no other date would be suitable so far as Otago .was concerned. Otago had to find the finance arid should have the final say. He moved that, the match be played on August 26. The motion was carried. ) It was decided to ask the selectors to choose the Otago team as soon as possible. GENERAL. A letter was received from the Technical Old Boys' Club stating that a man who had been warned off the association's grounds for the season on account of his conduct towards officials was not a member of the club. —The letter was received. Mr A. J. Waterson, the referee iu a Sixth Grade match, wrote stating that in the absence of nets on the Littlebourne ground he had not been able to decide whether a goal had been scored by the Technical team.- and had awarded a corner. Had there been a linesman the matter could have been referred to him. He stressed the necessity of clubs appointing line umpires.—The letter was received.
