THREE MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT NO NEED TO STEAL. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 29. A married woman, Rachel Stott, aged 49, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for shoplifting. She admitted eight charges of stealing goods worth £29. It was admitted that she had no need to steal. When she was detected yesterday she carried brown paper and string to wrap up goods. The magistrate l said he felt very sorry for her husband, but there were too many thefts for him to refrain from sending the accused to prison.
