She is to sail on Wednesday for London and west coast ports. With bulk motor spirit for the Vacuum Oil Company, the Norwegian motor tanker Sagona left San Francisco last week for Auckland, Wellington and Australia. She Is due at Auckland about August 11. The Shaw, Savlll and Albion Line motor ship Karamea arrived at Lyttelton on Friday from Bluff for further loading. She Is to sail today for Wellington and Auckland, and Is to sail finally ..from Auckland on August 8 for London, via Cape Horn. The British steamer Welcombe, which loaded a full cargo of wheat at Lyttelton for Shanghai, completed discharge at that port and proceeded to Miike to bunker. She left the Japanese port on July 11 for Queensland, where she will load for the United Kingdom. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Tainui is now completing discharge of her London cargo at Auckland. She will load at Timaru on Thursday, and will complete at Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Tainui Is to sail finally from Auckland on August 23 for Southampton and London, via Panama. NIAGARA LEAVES HONOLULU. The Union Company's liner Niagara, en route from Vancouver, left Honolulu on July 26 for Suva, Auckland and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on August 7. MARIPOSA LEAVES LOS ANGELES. The Oceanic Company’s liner Mariposa cleared San Francisco on July 25 and Los Angeles on July 26 for Honolulu, Pago Pago, Suva, Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne. She Is due at Auckland on August 11. THE CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR. The Canadian Constructor, from Montreal, via Australia, arrived at Auckland last Friday morning. She will later proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharging and loading. The" vessel Is due here on Thursday, and 'Will sail from this port on August 4 for New York, Boston and Montreal, via the Panama canal. BARQUE PLUS FROM SEYCHELLES. The Finnish barque Plus has been chartered to load a phosphate cargo at Seychelles Islands for New Zealand. She is an iron vessel of 1251 tons gross, and was built at Hamburg, Germany, in 1885. KANNA LEAVES WALPOLE ISLAND. The Kanna, which loaded guano at Wal-. pole Island, left there on July 25 for Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She Is due at Dunedin on August 3. . RANGITATA LEAVES LONDON. . Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the motor liner Rangltata left London on July 27 for Auckland and Wellington, via Panama. She .is bringing passengers, mails, and cargo, and Is due at Auckland on August 30. • PIAKO FROM NEW YORK. The Plako, en route from New York, has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive at Auckland on August 7. The vessel has American cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australian ports. RUAHINE REPLACES OTAIO. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that arrangements have been made for the liner Ruahlne, in place of the Otalo, to leave Liverpool on December 23 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers. PERSONAL ITEMS. Captain W. Johnson is now in command of the tug Terawhltl, relieving Captain P. Ryan. Mr H. J. Knewstubb has joined the Kaimlro as chief engineer, relieving Mr H. M’Dougali for holidays. Mr K. J. M’Leod has joined the Makura as second engineer in place of Mr D. M’Bean, who has transferred to the Tamahlne in a similar capacity. Mr C. W. Pirie has rejoined the Waipahl as chief engineer after holiday leave. ASHBURTON FROM NEW YORK. An arrival at Dunedin yesterday was the A. and A. Line’s chartered motor ship Ashburton, from Philadelphia, New York, Galveston and Tampico, via Panama, Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. She was berthed at the Victoria wharf, where the local portion of her American cargo will bo discharged, the sulphur from Galveston and the bitumen from Tampico being for Australian ports. The vessel experienced stormy, cyclonic weather during the last 10 days of the voyage. The conditions were exceptionally stormy on July 17 and the vessel had to be hove to for six hours. The Ashburton arrived at Auckland on July 17. Captain P E. Crlckmen is master of the vessel and is accompanied by his wife. The Ashburton will sail to-morrow for Australia to complete clis- • charge. ALYNBANK PROM NAURU ISLAND. The Bank Line motor ship Alynbank arrived yesterday from Nauru Island, via Auckland and Lyttelton, and was berthed at the Ravensbourne wharf, where a part cargo of phosphates will be unloaded from; her holds. The vessel left Nauru Island On July 13. and arrived at Auckland on July 22. Fresh southerly winds and rough head seas were experienced when the Alynbank was nearing New Zealand, but in spite of the boisterous conditions she made the passage to Auckland in the fast time of nine days two hours.
