WHEAT EXPORTS

SCHEME FOR LIMITATION AUSTRALIA’S ATTITUDE (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, July 3. A conference of State and Commonweath Government representatives agreed that it would be advisable for Australia to agree in principle to a temporary scheme for the limitation of wheat exports from Australia. Qualifying that decision, the conference added, “ provided that the scheme is fair to Australian interests and that European producing and importing countries effectively _ co-operate.” A fund is to be established into which will be paid a proportion of any benefit from increased prices for wheat of the season 1034-35 over present prices. This will be made available for purchasing and dealing with any surplus during that season. Mr Bruce has been authorised to agree to a certain specific limitation of exports yet to be disclosed. No action was taken in reference to restriction of acreage.
