CRICKET IN ENGLAND
DEMPSTER QUALIFYING PICKED AGAINST WEST INDIES. LONDON, July 2. C. S. Dempster, the New Zealand cricketer, will play for Lancashire against the West Indies at Old Trafford on July 12. It is expected that he will play in all Lancashire matches at the end of his qualifying period. THE LANCASHIRE LEAGUE. LONDON, July 3. (Received July 4, at 1 a.m.) Outstanding performances in t the Lancashire League matches were: Richardson 87 not out and five wickets, Fairfax 41 not out, MacDonald five wickets, Merritt 53 and three wickets, Crornb 35 and five wickets, Constantine 108 (scored in 72 minutes), and five wickets for 36.
