A team from the Ardleigh Club visited Oamaru over the week-end and Suffered a decisive , defeat, only winning one and halving another out of 12 matches. In the fourth round of the Club Championship Dr E, L. Fitzgerald defeated N. M. Mathesoa, eight and six. FIRE IN BAKERY. About 2.30 p.m. yesterday a fire broke out in the bakery owned by Messrs Goodley and Sons, grocers and bakers, Waikouaiti. The fire was first _ noticed by Mr Dunn, and soon extinguished; small damage only resulting. :• - - .
