BUILDING COSTS
“To what extent do you consider building costs have gone down compared with what they were in 1928?” asked Mr E. J. W. Hallett of a land agent giving evidence in the Napier Supreme Court a few days ago. “ I should say fully 70 per cent.” replied the witness, adding that 35 per cent, was on the 1928 figures. Ho expressed the view that 1930 witnessed Dio beginning of the big fall iu price*.
