SUNDAY SERVICES
The Rev. George Bndd, home mission superintendent, will preach in Knox Church in the morning. The evening service will be conducted by the Rev. D. C. Herron, who will give the last of the series of addresses on “ A Cry for Justice,” taking as his subject “ The Castigation of Nominal Religion." Communion Sunday will be observed at First Church to-morrow. The Rev. W. Allen Stevely’s subjects will be, in the morning, “ Captivity Captive,” and in the evening, “The Living Bread.” Dr V. E. Galway will be the organist. The Rev. E. S. Tuckwell will conduct both services in the Hanover Street Baptist Church to-morrow: - _ The evening anthem will be “The Radiant Morn.” The “Tell New Zealand” Campaign will be continued at the Theosophical So ciety, where Miss Starkey will take as here subject “ The Progress of the Soul.” First Church of Christ Scientist will conduct services in Allbell Chambers, 154 Stuart street, to-morrow. The subject for the morning and evening services will be “Is the Universe, including Man, Evolved by Atomic Force? ” The Rev. H. E. Bellhouse will conduct both services in Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street, to-morrow. His subject in the evening will be “ The Tragedy of the Second Best.” The choir will render an anthem, and Miss Gwenda Burt will sing the solo “ Sun of My Soul.” At the St. Kilda Methodist Church the Rev. Percy Paris will preach in the morning on “ Flesh Versus Spirit,” and in the evening on “ Sight and Insight.” The anthem will be Lee’s “Now Thank we all our God.”
At the Salvation Army, Dowling street, the 3 p.m. educational and inspiring hour will be conducted by Staff-captain Emma Davies, of Wellington, New Zealand Women’s Social secretary. The subject will be “ The Tabernacle in the Wilderness,” and it will be illustrated by a model of the Tabernacle. At 11 a.m. the members of the Home League will conduct the Holiness Assembly (speaker, Mrs Adjutant Thomson), and at 7 p.m. Adjutant Thomas, the commanding officer of the City Corps, will direct and speak. The services at the United Congregational Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. James M. Sraeeth, his subject for the children in the morning being “ Slaves,” and for the adults “ Paul’s Idea of Consecration.” In the evening, when Mr Frank Watt will be the soloist, his subject will be “Led by Jesus.” The Central Mission services will be conducted by the Rev. Leslie B. Neale tomorrow. In the evening there will be a special broadcast service, when Mr Neale will preach on “Masterless Men.” Miss Meda Paine and Miss Alison Tyrie will be the soloists, and the band of the Otago Regiment will be on parade. A series of talks to young people will be given by the Rev. Albert Mead, beginning to-morrow evening, and taken from the pages of the Book of Friendship. The first of the series will be on “ The Friend Who Was Constant.” The choir will render “ 0 Father Whose Almighty Power,” from “Judas Maccabffius,” and Mr Frank Watt will sing “Arm, Arm Ye Brave,” from the same oratorio.
