EVEREST EXPEDITION
AWAITING BETTER WEATHER ALL MEMBERS SLIGHTLY FROSTBITTEN. LONDON, June 11. Mr Ruttledge, in a wireless message from Mount Everest, says that the whole party is now at the base camp after the climbers’ descent from Camp 3. The monsoon is now active, Everest is covered with fresh snow.’ When the weather moderates Smythe, Wyn-Harris, Shipton, Longland, Crawford, Brocklebank, and Dr Greene will again ascend the glacier for a fresh assault on the summit. All are slightly frostbitten, and all except Smythe are suffering from slight dilfttution of the heart.
