MARY PRATT CONCERT

A number of the best known artists in Dunedin will assist at the concert which is being tendered to Miss Mary Pratt in the Town Hall on June 21. In consequence this function should prove an outstanding success, and one of the finest musical events of the year. Miss Pratt’s ability and pleasant personality have so endeared her to music lovers in Dunedin that no trouble has been experienced in arranging a very comprehensive support-

ing programme that should delight any audience. The Dunedin Male Choir and Symphony Orchestra need no introduction to the public of the city, their sterling performances iu the past having established for them a reputation which \ cannot be questioned, while all the solo- \ ists are firm favourites with music lovers. The instrumentalists comprise Dr Galway (city organist), Mr Max Sclierek, Mr Maitland M'Cutchebn, and Mr David Whisker, a brilliant flautist from the Sydney Conservatorium, who is making his first appearance before a Dunedin audience. Mr Whisker was associated with Madame Galli-Curci as her flautist during her tour in the North Island. One of the features of the concert will be a rendering of “ Land of Hope and Glory ” by the choir, with Miss Pratt as the soloist. Miss Pratt will also ba heard in many of her favourite numbers. The box plan arrangements are advertised.
