WORK OF INCENDIARIST

FIRES IN UNOCCUPIED HOUSES (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 8. The fourth fire in unoccupied premises in New Plymouth in a fortnight occurred last night, when a house in Barrett street was damaged. The alarm was received about 9.35, and the brigade arrived tp find flames issuing from the front door and Windows. The seat of the was in the rear of the building and little damage was done elsewhere. It appeal s that the outbreak originated in the back poi’eh. A curious feature isthat apasser-by at 9.25 noticed nothing amiss, but shortly after 9.30 the rear part of the building was burning fierfcely. ihe tne adds one more to the long list of outbreaks in empty buildings and unoccupied dwellings that the fire brigade has been called upon to extinguish in the last two years. The brigade is definitely of the opinion that an incendiarist is at work.
