KIWI SWIMMING CLUB
ANNUAL PRIZE-GIVING The annual prize-giving function of the Kiwi- Swimming Club was held last evening in the Embassy Salon, a fair number of members and supporters of the club being present. The’ earlier part of the evening was devoted to the juniors, who were entertained at tea, after which the prizes won during the year were presented by the president of the club, Mr A. Wilson. At the conclusion of the juniors’ function, a dance was held, and the senior prizes were presented, occasion being taken during an interval to present a bouquet to the club’s queen for the Otago Swimming Club’s Queen Carnival (Miss Nancy Olds). The following is the list of prize-win-ners: — Junior boys’ championship (Fogg Cup), D. Tuckwell; junior boys’ handicap (Vernon Smith Cup), D; Tuckwell. Junior girls’ championship (Irwin Cup). Miss A. Gillies; junior girls’ handicaps (Vernon Smith Cup), Miss A. Gillies. Special prizes: Junior boys’ handicaps, C. M'Gregor; girls, Miss €. Knowles. Junior boys’ improvement, B. Booth; junior girls, Joan Jenvey. Senior championship and miniature, R. Geddes; ladies’ championship, ■ Miss N. Olds. Senior handicaps (Sutton Challenge Cup), P. E. Mathieson; club diving championship (Murdoch Memorial Cup), P. E. Mathieson.
Harbour Race (Fogg Cup), W. Mason; special trophy, Miss M. Boulton: fastest time (William Long Memorial Cup), A. Thomas. Senior men’s improvement, D. Duff; senior ladies, Miss I. Linkston.
