“THREE WISE FOOLS”
On Thursday next the curtain will rise on that delightful comedy, “Three Wise Fools.” It will be produced by the Dunedin Strolling Players in the Town Hall Concert Chamber for a short season of three nights. “Three Wise Fools” gives scops for some fine acting and has a touch of drama which was not evident in the plays previously produced by the Players. The story deals with three old friends—a banker, a judge, and a doctor (“ The Three Wise Fools”), who have lived together for many years, and who were nil in love with the same girl in their youth. They have heard nothing of her for many years, when suddenly they received word that she has died in abject poverty, Paving her child, Sidney, to their care. They expect a baby boy, and are very much astonished when a girl of about 20 presents herself. The banker’s nephew, (Jordon, immediately falls in love with her, but affairs are complicated by the appearance of an escaped criminal. Benny Surntt, who has sworn to kill the judge. From that time on things happen quickly and humorous incidents follow. The cast is a - strong one. and includes Anita Winkel, Elsie M'Peak, George Snlmond, Russel] Napier. Douglas Skene, Charles Smith. Gordon Niven, Bert Jones. Roland Watson, Angus Gorrie, and Douglas Dali. The production is being produced by Richard White. The box plans open at the Bristol on Monday next, _ and the whole of the proceeds are in aid of the Y.M.C.A.
