No. 1 DEPOT The No. 1 Depot, which is now open on Tuesday and Friday of each week, is, on account of the cold weather, very bu y. There are now over 250 enrolments, a large percentage of which represents members readily availing themselves of the services at their disposal T l» e a-week scheme is now operating in the district with very satisfactory repsonse by the residents. The many who make use of this portion of the depot are grateiu to Adjutant Bartle and her assistants for the excellent service rendered. No. 4 DEPOT Commencing to-day, new registrations will be made between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. daily (Saturday excepted). CENTRAL MISSION DEPOT Sympathisers with the work of the Methodist Central Alission in its endeavours to minister judiciously and economically to the distressed families in Dun edin will have an opportunity of supporting the work next Friday, when there will be a street collection. This will be the annual effort of’the mission for its social service work and the sympathetic co-operation of the public is solicited. There will be stalls at strategic points, and collectors will be at work in all par ts of the city. A feature of the day will be 100 fourpenny lunches provided by tue girls of the mission for those who are forced to stay in town for lunch. These lunches may be purchased at any ot tne stalls. Air Neale is anxious to purchase 300 carcasses of meat and a supply or warm clothing and footwear. An appeal is made for vegetables, potatoes being especially needed. Good manuka blocks are available at the depot, the proceeds of which, after deducting expenditure involved in cutting and delivering, is devoted to the relief of distress.
