NEW ZEALAND WOOLLEN GOODS

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— After observing that “New Zealander” does his own shopping, and that he had to leave home to find an answer to such a simple question, I am convinced he must be a member of the order of celibacy. Certain English-made goods are cheaper than the New Zealand article for the same reason as New Zealand butter is cheaper than English and Danish butter. The supply at Home is greater than the demand. No one will find fault with “Ne Zealander ” for buying the cheaper article any more than we blame the people for purchasing New Zealand butter. —I am, etc., Mosgiel, May 11. Glasgow.
