SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS
SECONDARY SCHOOLBOYS SUCCESS FOR M'GLASHAN COLLEGE. (Per United Press Association.)' TIMARU, May 11. The principal events in the first secondary schools ski championships held m New Zealand were commenced to-day at the Ball Glacier, Mount Cook.. Waitaki won the interschool competition, wjtn Christ's College second. The champion of champions was A. Borne, (M.G ashan College); with S. Thompson (Christ's College) second. Borrie won the Lew Zealand secondary schools' Langlauf Championship, Thompson the Downhill Championship, and D. Gordon (Waitaki) the Slalom Championship. There were 32 competitors in each event, the conditions being excellent. Results:— .Slalom Race.-D. Gordon Waitaki) 1, S Thompson (Christ's College) i, K. Hudson (Waitaki), and A. Borne (M'Glashan, equal) 3, V Downhill Championship.-S.. Thompson (Christ's College) 1, Tuckey (Waitaki) 2D Gordon (Waitaki) 3, E. Walker (Otago) 4. Time, 2min 23sec. ; Langlauf Championship.—A.
